October will be a very exciting month for the 4th Graders!
Our RECORDERS have ARRIVED! Thank you to all the parents who contributed to the recorder order. They are in and the 4th graders are very excited to begin playing them! I grade recorder very loosely, some kids really grab onto the instrument and love it and some kids get very nervous about it. I do not often make them play individually in front of me because I feel that it is nerve wracking. At this age, we as teacher and parents should be fostering a love for music and a love for practicing! I will know if they are getting where they need to be by their performance as a class. This particular class has a lot of GREAT ideas in store for the Christmas concert, so get excited! We will be studying JS Bach, as our composer this month, and working hard planning out our Christmas concert. Thank you to Parents, Students and Teachers for helping to make the music program a success here at St. Ignatius! |
